... may be lighthearted, but the two promises embodied in that claim are both heartfelt. First, we will offer the highest quality outsource services to your library, so that you can earn the applause of your board, patrons, and staff. Second, we will offer our services in the background, quietly, without disruption or interruption of your operations. (Since many of our projects involve at least some on-premise work, that's a meaningful promise.)
For nearly 20 years, Backstage Library Works and our predecessor companies have been providing star-quality digitizing, retrospective conversion, cataloging, record upgrading in more than 100 languages, reclassification and related services, including complicated conversions and on-site scanning of irreplaceable source materials.
We have served libraries large, small, historic, humble, public, private, specialized, comprehensive, in great research universities and small private collections, in many countries, as our client list demonstrates.
Our office windows look out to the peaks of the Wasatch Mountains, in the Provo/Orem area, the center of Utah's technology development industry, about 40 miles south of Salt Lake City. Regularly listed in national surveys rating livability and family-friendly communities, the area is home to Brigham Young University and Utah Valley State College, with a total of over 50,000 students coming from around the world.
We recently merged (or perhaps converged) from MARC Link and Access Imagery, two sister companies that served the library world with distinction. Unified and re-energized, we continue to grow, and deliver on our starmaker promise, thanks to three strengths:

Our staff is well educated and very experienced, many with fluency in European and Asian languages, plus Hebrew and Arabic. Our training program, rigorous quality standards, and close supervision keep the crossbar high.
Employment standards and conditions are such that even with very low prevailing unemployment rates, we hire fewer than 10 of every 100 applicants for open positions.
