Becca Wiederhold,
Project Manager for Bibliographic Record Services
A ten-year Backstage veteran, Becca Wiederhold came to the company in 1998. As she moved up through the ranks, she was a Quality Assurance Specialist and a Team Leader before settling into her current role as a Project Manager in 2003. Handling services from retrospective conversion to original cataloging to LC reclassification, Becca has overseen more than a hundred projects.
Besides her skills in managing people and projects, Becca also brings us her expertise in German. And she earned a bachelor of science degree from Brigham Young University in 2001.
Like many in this business, Becca is an incurable reader. When she was a kid, she relates, "I'd get in trouble for reading while doing my chores." Apparently Mom didn't think she could see where she was vacuuming with a novel in hand.
During her teen years, Becca was once saved from a reading-while-bicycling collision with a trash can when a friend shouted out a greeting that pulled her eyes up from the page just in time. She has given up the practice and does not read while driving these days.
At the top of Becca's current list of favorite books are Charles C. Mann's 1491: New Revelations of the Americas Before Columbus and Barbara Kingsolver's The Poisonwood Bible.
