Batch File Alternative

Did you know that you could make your command prompt work for you instead of the other way around? It's true!

All too often we find ourselves running processes on our data and, rather than making a tedious list of batch files that we have to keep track of and remember what they do, we eventually just give in and type out our instructions in full.

There is a better way.

All you need to do is copy the contents of your clipboard into your command prompt. I'll walk you through the steps.

First, go to Start--All programs-- Accessories,  and right-click on the command prompt. Choose Properties. Then on the Options Tab, be sure to check the checkboxes for QuickEdit mode and Insert mode. Click Apply and, if it asks you, choose to apply the settings to all future command prompts.

Anytime you find yourself typing in a set a commands, try the easy way instead. Write the commands in notepad. Then highlight all the text you just typed, copy it, find your command prompt and Right-click directly into the prompt. Everything you typed will be entered into the prompt as if you had actually typed it. Moreover, it will work with your internal programs as well.

It's so easy!
