Services on Your Terms
Our goal is to perform your retrospective conversion project the way your staff would do it, if they had the time. Every library's collections and requirements are different. Backstage Library Works will customize processes to provide the exact service you need. We have customers who thought their work could only be done in house, who are now happy to have us take care of their projects.

From Any Combination of Databases
Backstage Library Works has access to high-quality records from a huge variety of sources. We can use any combination of these databases to provide the best outcome for your project. Backstage Library Works maintains its own database of seven million Library of Congress records; three million records converted from various academic and government sources, predating the LC database; and one million original records created by Backstage Library Works during various conversion projects. We also have access to the RLG Union Catalog, more than 115 million records contributed by some of the most renowned academic and research libraries in 255 different countries, and the databases of the British Library, which contain over ten million records. We can link to the OCLC Worldcat records too. If you wish us to use your own database, or that of a consortium to which you belong, no problem.
Into Any Format
Backstage Library Works provides records in MARC21, UKMARC, UNIMARC, or any other format your library needs. In addition, we can perform conversions between MARC formats.
